City of White Rock
“This is the BEST training in my 20 years working in the municipal sector. I spent 18 years with the City of Vancouver and had received Indigenous training and this training (especially the facilitator) was by far the most engaging and meaningful training session. I can't put into words how this session has made a positive impact on myself, my position, my relationships, my continuing education, and just a mind-opening experience. To understand the truth is the start of the path to understanding the culture and why the response is the way it is. I am lucky enough to have built relationships and those relations were good enough that I was told these nuances. It is not personal, it's that it's just how it is, no changing of that fact anytime soon. Embrace it, understand it and be the face of change. With these tools in my toolbox, I feel I can finally understand and work well with the community. I can't say how much this session had an impact on me and the way I go about working together.” D. A.
