Are you ready to engage with an Indigenous community but aren't sure of where to start? Do you understand the differences between consultation and engagement?

We take our classic Indigenous cross-cultural awareness training program, Working Effectively with Indigenous Peoples® and get beyond Indigenous awareness to practical skills and tools that can be applied during Indigenous consultation and engagement efforts.

At this training you will:

  • Review and build on the elements of consultation
  • Know the difference between consultation and engagement
  • Review what constitutes accommodation
  • Review ways we can strengthen our consultation practices
  • Become familiar with the use of the Risk Assessment Tool
  • Prepare for questions your Indigenous counterparts will ask you
  • Know how to deal with issues related to Western Science and Indigenous Knowledge
  • Practice protocol and interactions

Pre-Requisite

This is a 200 level training session building upon the material provided in our foundational Working Effectively with Indigenous Peoples® training.

To ensure you get the most out of this session we highly recommend that you have completed either our Working Effectively with Indigenous Peoples® training or training with a similar agenda within the last year.

In-Person Training Courses
Our fee is refundable, less a $100 fee if the registration is cancelled between 4 weeks and 2 weeks (10 business days) before the start of the training, or less a $200 fee if the registration is cancelled within 2 weeks (10 business days) of the training date. The registration can be transferred to another location or date - a fee of $100 will be applied.

Books
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

eBooks
Downloadable software products including ebooks are not refundable.

Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery is not refundable.
